Thousands of children can improve their digital skills with support from the 4iG Foundation
The 4iG Foundation's Digital Opportunity Programme supports schools known for teachers who not only teach, but also inspire. Here, learning is a collective experience, and development is a goal that everyone shares. Since the commitment was already in place, we needed to provide the tools to turn the vision into reality.
At the 2025 Digital Opportunity Awards ceremony, 15 schools received a total of 220 refurbished laptops optimised for digital education. The programme aims to enhance students' digital skills, introduce modern teaching methods and support community initiatives in schools.
A total of 224 valid applications were received from all regions of the country. The jury selected schools where teachers not only teach, but truly believe that the future and students’ destinies can be shaped through creativity and dedication.
The message of the Digital Opportunity Programme is simple yet powerful: technology becomes a value when it builds bridges—not just tools, but a pathway to the future. The refurbished laptops are delivered to schools where the will, vision and commitment were already present, and where the equipment can now be put to use as well. To places where new study clubs are springing up, student newspapers are being created, school radio stations are coming to life, and where children are writing their first line of code. This is not just development, this is real opportunity.
The call for proposals focused on three main areas:
- developing the use of digital tools in the classroom;
- launching programming and coding courses;
- supporting community and student programmes, such as student newspapers, school radio or student government projects.
Under the programme, the Foundation will provide teachers in the selected schools not only with tools, but also with practical, hands-on knowledge through a 30-hour e-learning training course, which will enable them to use digital tools effectively in their daily teaching.
