The strategic partnership between 4iG and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid continues
The Hungarian Interchurch Aid actively promotes digital inclusion, recognising that digital poverty is mot merely a technical disadvantage, but can also lead to significant social exclusion. People without internet access or the ability to use digital tools face significantly reduced opportunities for further education and employment. Therefore, the organisation not only works to improve digital opportunities for people in need, but also aims to upgrade the digital infrastructure of its own social institutions and train its staff to provide faster, more efficient and better-targeted assistance to those who need it most.
In support of the Aid’s objectives, the 4iG Group donated HUF 161 million between 2023 and 2025 for digital development. As a continuation of their successful cooperation, the partnership has been extended for another two years, with the 4iG Group contributing an additional HUF 200 million to the organisation’s charitable and social activities as a strategic telecommunications and digital partner. Within this strategic partnership, 4iG Group, as a socially responsible company, supports the organisation's programmes not only with IT tools and services but also through other means, including its Voluntary Community, which takes part in the charitable activities of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid.
"As a strategic partner since 2023, we have supported the Hungarian Interchurch Aid because we believe that by strengthening its operations, we can work together to promote digital equality and extend the opportunities of the digital world to more communities in need, both within and beyond our borders. It is important for us to ensure that the provision of technological tools serves a comprehensive social mission that creates real opportunities for those in need," said Péter Fekete, CEO of 4iG Plc.
"The fight against digital poverty and the digitalisation of our work, making it even more efficient, rank high among our strategic objectives. We are grateful to rely on the 4iG Group in this forward-looking work, as affirmed by the new two-year strategic agreement," emphasised László Lehel, President and CEO of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid.
Thanks to the support received so far, the IT and logistical workload of the Aid has been reduced, freeing up more resources to manage aid requests and run programmes. The entire network of social institutions has been assessed and improved, donation management modernised and the organisation’s digitisation advanced. In 2024, nearly 100 laptops, printers and IT security tools were delivered to various institutions, greatly supporting professionals in their daily work. With the help of 4iG, a survey of the Internet network in three institutions has also been launched, potentially expanding into a national network development in the coming years. The national centre has also undergone a comprehensive IT upgrade: hardware and network infrastructure have been renewed, a modern error management system introduced and IT policies supporting operations developed. As part of the agreement, the 4iG Group will provide ongoing IT support and upgrade the Aid’s enterprise management system in preparation for further development in 2026.

Under the strategic partnership, Bright Sky, One Foundation's programme to combat relationship violence, will also be entrusted to the Hungarian Interchurch Aid for management. Launched in 2021, Bright Sky aims to support victims of relationship violence and their families by offering a safe, free source of information and practical advice on how to get help. The Hungarian Interchurch Aid has been a professional partner in adapting and developing the programme since its inception, and will continue to operate Bright Sky as its administering organisation. With more than three decades of experience supporting abused women, children and families, and a national network of crisis centres and social services, the charity provides effective assistance to those affected by relationship violence.
